Immigration Coordinator – Montreal

KPMG's Immigration Law practice is seeking an Immigration Coordinator to join our team in Montreal. In this role, you will support the preparation and submission of a wide range of Canadian immigration applications, including permanent residence applications, temporary work permits, temporary resident visas, and other related immigration processes.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service while working collaboratively with lawyers, immigration professionals, and administrative teams.


What you will do

Immigration Responsibilities

  • Research immigration requirements and determine the appropriate supporting documentation for various application types.
  • Prepare detailed document request and instruction packages for clients.
  • Draft legal submissions and supporting letters outlining applicants' eligibility under Canadian immigration legislation and policy.
  • Assist in obtaining and reviewing supporting documentation, including civil status documents, police certificates, educational credentials, and employment records.
  • Prepare immigration application packages, forms, and supporting materials.
  • Coordinate document authentication, legalization, and translation processes where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed within established service standards and deadlines.
  • Maintain effective communication with immigration lawyers, coordinators, administrators, and clients throughout the application process.
  • Provide additional support and undertake special projects as assigned by management.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensure that client correspondence, supporting documents, and case information are accurately maintained in KPMG's internal systems and databases.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and case status updates.
  • Respond to client and vendor inquiries relating to invoicing and payments.
  • Collect, review, code, and submit vendor invoices for processing.
  • Monitor and facilitate the timely payment of vendor invoices.
  • Assist with the timely issuance of client invoices.
  • Prepare files for billing upon completion of immigration services.
  • Perform administrative duties such as file management, photocopying, scanning, mailing, and courier coordination.
  • Provide general administrative support as required.

What you bring to the role

  • 2-3 years of professional experience, ideally within a legal, immigration, or professional services environment.
  • Experience in Canadian immigration law, particularly in temporary residence and/or Quebec and federal permanent residence processes.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related field.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of billing practices and procedures is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, assess, and apply information effectively.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
