We are looking for co-ops who can apply both their consulting and technology skills to support a wide range of projects.
As a Technical Consultant (Intern/Co-op), you will have the opportunity to:
- Apply business/accounting/finance acumen to solve client problems, apply technology skills to build solutions for clients, and assist with tax consulting deliverables.
- Assist with day-to-day delivery of tax transformation projects for clients and supporting client deliverables using a variety of technologies and tools.
- Support development of custom solutions and ongoing product development.
- Assist on client initiatives to identify opportunities to improve existing tax operating models including designing processes, and implementing tax technology.
- Work with our managers to understand client(s) existing processes and propose new solutions.
- Participate in collaboration/design sessions with the business, clients, and our team.
- Our team primarily works with Microsoft technologies such as: Excel/VBA, PowerQuery, PowerAutomate, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server.

What you bring to the role

You’re passionate about being involved in your local community and post-secondary institution and have a proven ability to achieve personal and professional success while being curious as you learn emerging practices and technologies.
- Currently completing a degree in either:
- A field such as Business Administration, Financial Management, Engineering or similar, with strong technology skills, or
- A field such as Computer Science, or similar, with strong consulting skills.
- A keen interest in finance, accounting, tax, or similar business disciplines.
- A keen interest in innovation and process improvement.
- Experience developing technology solutions using Excel/VBA
- Experience with other Microsoft technologies such as Power Query, PowerBI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server considered an asset.
- Experience with Python, Alteryx, or similar is considered an asset.
- Enjoys problem solving using business acumen and technological solutions.
- Willingly takes on and learns new skills - although you may not know all the technologies and/or have tax experience, you’re willing to learn quickly and apply it effectively.
- Excels in a fast-paced environment - We’re a client service firm and we take pride in what we do and how we do it in tight deadlines.
- Has a Team First Mentality – We’re a tightly knit team that lean on each other and teach each other.
- Able to interact with co-workers, management, and clients alike in a manner that is respectful and understanding.

- Previous experience in business roles and/or accounting firms is considered an asset.

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $62,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills& competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
