KPMG’s Office of the Partner (OTP) supports our partnership through the lifecycle of their careers – from entry into partnership, through to retirement preparation. Our team includes partnership accounting, partner matters (onboarding, partnership policies, benefits and agreements, offboarding), leadership development, partnership tax, and partner personal and corporate tax services.
The Director, Admissions & Alumni Partner Experience is a senior leadership role within the Office of the Partner, responsible for shaping and managing critical moments across the partner lifecycle; from admission into the partnership to retirement and alumni engagement.
This role plays a pivotal part in protecting the legacy of the partnership, delivering a high quality and well governed experience for partners at key transition points, and unlocking the long-term strategic value of our retired and former partners as board members, advisors, alumni, and market connectors.
What you will do
Direct Admit Partner (DAP) Admissions
- Lead the end-to-end Direct Admit Partner (DAP) process, including candidate intake, evaluation, governance, and decision support
- Partner closely with senior leaders across the Office of the Partner, HR, Risk, Legal, Finance, and the business to ensure alignment with partnership standards and firm strategy
- Design and maintain clear, disciplined admissions criteria, processes, and timelines
- Facilitate the successful integration of DAPs into the firm, ensuring alignment with partnership standards and firm strategy
- Ensure a consistent, fair, and high quality candidate experience while safeguarding the integrity of the partnership
Partner Promotion Process
- Own and manage the annual partner promotion cycle, from planning through final approvals
- Coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders to ensure a transparent, equitable, and well governed process
- Prepare high quality materials, analysis, and recommendations for senior leadership and governance committees
- Identify opportunities to continuously strengthen promotion of readiness and pipeline development
Retired Partner Experience, Preparedness & Offboarding
- Redesign and lead the retired partner experience, to create a thoughtful, multiyear transition journey that begins well before retirement
- Oversee retirement and withdrawal processes in collaboration with the business and Office of the Partner, ensuring retiring partners experience a respectful, well-coordinated, and positive transition from the firm
- Lead or integrate board readiness programming for transitioning and retired partners
- Support partners pursuing board, advisory, and other leadership roles through education, mentorship, and networking opportunities
- Position retired partners as credible, well-prepared ambassadors of the firm in governance and executive communities
Partner Alumni & Market Engagement
- Design and oversee a partner alumni strategy that strengthens long-term relationships and creates value for both the firm and its alumni
- Collaborate with Clients & Markets, alumni, and loyalty initiatives to activate retired and former partners as mentors, speakers, connectors, and opportunity catalysts
- Identify and support commercial, reputational, and relationship driven opportunities arising from the retired partner network
What you bring to the role
- Senior leadership experience in partner affairs, governance, HR, professional services, or complex talent programs
- Strong understanding of partnership models, senior level admissions, and promotion processes
- Experience designing or supporting executive transitions, alumni programs, or board readiness initiatives is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage high stakes, confidential processes with credibility and sound judgment
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and process design skills
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director, Office of the Partner, and senior leadership
- Ability to influence across functions without direct authority, balancing discretion, sound judgment, and strong relationship skills
- Experiencing leading small, high impact teams and complex initiatives with confidence and professionalism
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential matters with integrity and care
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $196,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
