The opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in Node and Java, with experience in Spring Boot. Knowledge of WebSphere is a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong debugging skills, a solid understanding of Java functions, and experience working with cloud platform, preferably on AWS platforms. The candidate should be proficient in deploying applications using AWS CDK and familiar with log aggregation tools such as Dynatrace or ELK.

The role requires working in an Agile environment, with the ability to create technical designs for assigned user stories. Experience with streaming frameworks like Kafka and message queues (MQs)is essential. The candidate should also be adept at leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and capable of developing reusable prompts for team productivity.

Must Have:

  • Strong experience in Node and Java development.
  • Proficient with Spring Boot framework.
  • Good debugging skills and solid understanding of Java functions.
  • Experience working with cloud platform, preferably on AWS with offering such AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, CloudWatch etc.
  • Familiarity with log aggregators such as Dynatrace or ELK.
  • Experience with SAST and DAST scans using quality gate matrix tools like SonarQube.
  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment.
  • Capability to create Technical Design documents for assigned user stories including Swagger.
  • Experience with streaming frameworks such as Kafka and message queues (MQs).
  • Proficient in using AI tools like GitHub Copilot and developing reusable prompts for team use.
  • Strong experience in unit testing and related frameworks and should have hands on CI/CD experience.
  • Working Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Hands experience with Security Frameworks and should know working of OAuth2.0, IDP and IAM

Good to Have:

  • Experience with WebSphere application server.
  • Experience with IBM APIC.
  • Experience with AI Analytics and Conversational tools such as Lumi, AWS Flex, Document AI
  • Knowledge of AWS CDK for deployment.
  • Knowledge of additional cloud platforms or deployment tools.
  • Prior experience in mentoring or leading development teams.
  • Exposure to other AI-assisted development tools or automation frameworks.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant professional certifications.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programming languages and frameworks.
  • Balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
  • Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
  • Apply creative solutions to challenging problems and ensure business needs are met effectively.
  • Build strong working relationships with other teams both inside and outside the organization.
  • Evaluate new products and technologies, create POCs, and provide feedback.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

  • Vancouver & Toronto : $88,000 to $132,000
  • Victoria : $80,000 to $120,000
