We advise through the full lifecycle of core and nation-building infrastructure projects across Canada and globally, from strategy, policy and business case development, transactions, ongoing asset management, renewal and disposal. Our work is across asset classes including transportation (e.g., rail, transit, highways, airports), healthcare, environment (e.g., waste), energy, mining, higher education, schools, and municipal facilities. In Toronto you will join a team advising at the forefront of some of the largest and highest profile Canadian and local projects such as the Alto High Speed Rail, East-West Energy Corridor, Ontario’s Infrastructure Digital Twin Program, Alberta Passenger Rail Master Plan, Newfoundland Adult Corrections Facility, Alberta Schools Bundles, North Coast Transmission Line and North York General Hospital.

Our practice is trusted by public sector ministries and agencies, as well as by private sector bidders, for its expertise in strategy and business case development, commercial and risk advisory, financing, transaction structuring, modeling and management of procurement processes, as well as for advising through the full infrastructure lifecycle. We are regularly named by our industry peers as Infrastructure Financial Advisor of the Year in Canada and the Americas.

Your key responsibilities


We are looking for individuals to join as a Staff or Analyst in our Infrastructure Advisory team, focusing on the strategic, commercial and financial aspects of project delivery. A genuine interest and intellectual curiosity in the infrastructure sector is critical for success, as this position is dynamic and demands close collaboration with our rapidly growing national Infrastructure Advisory team on engagements spanning across strategic planning, development, delivery, and operations of major infrastructure projects.

  • Able to competently undertake thoughtful quantitative and qualitative analysis, with an ability to construct highly complex financial models
  • Able to research and synthesize insights from financial, commercial, public policy, academic and industry sources for use in competitive analysis, industry analysis, financial and non-financial scenario analysis to inform decisions across the infrastructure lifecycle
  • Able to prepare clearly written, high quality drafts of reports and presentations tailored for audience
  • Interested in contributing to business development and supporting our “go-to-market” strategy

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Undergraduate degree in business, commerce, law, economics or engineering
  • Staff: 1 year of full-time work experience in infrastructure related fields or relevant experience in commercial, financial, economic, strategic, and/or infrastructure policy analysis
  • Analyst: 2+ years of full-time work experience in infrastructure related fields or relevant experience in commercial, financial, economic, strategic, and/or infrastructure policy analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in producing high quality deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, adaptable to a range of audiences
  • Demonstrated interest in supporting the development and delivery of critical infrastructure projects

Some or all of the following are considered desirable, but not mandatory:

  • An MBA/Master’s degree/CFA/CBV
  • Working knowledge of the infrastructure delivery lifecycle, with relevant experience in one or more of strategy and business case development, commissioning and procurement, transactions, asset management and disputes.
  • Working knowledge of project option development and analysis in early planning stages to support government decision-making in strategic infrastructure investment
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts and principles (CPA not required)
  • Working knowledge of debt financing and capital markets and/or project financing markets
  • Working knowledge of capital project procurement models (DBB, DB, CMAR, IPD, PDB, P3, Alliance, etc.)

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

  • Toronto Staff: $67,500 to $73,000
  • Toronto Analyst: $73,000 to $99,500
