The opportunity

The HR Systems specialist role is a key position within the HR Enablement team in Canada, reporting to the Senior HR Systems Specialist. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, ensuring accurate data management, system functionality, Reporting, Compliance, and Time-Off Management. The HR Systems Specialist will work closely with various business stakeholders across the firm, including Recruitment, Talent Consultants, Payroll, Total Rewards, Partnership Operations and IT. Additionally, the role involves liaising with EY’s third-party Talent Managed Service provider (IBM). Responsibilities vary in scope and requires an individual with HR technology knowledge, experiences and skills. This role is open to any of our office locations in Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

HR Data Management:

  • Participates in managing HR data within SuccessFactors, specifically Onboarding, Employee Central and Time-Off modules.
  • Assists with maintaining interdependencies between SuccessFactors and other global and local EY systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Financial System, Payroll and Benefit vendors).
  • Assists in managing foundational data creation and changes to picklist values or data elements
  • Audits and analyzes data to ensure data integrity and works with employee or Managed Services (IBM) on data resolution.
  • Supports large data change activities such as mass uploads, mass salary changes, promotions, and large intakes of hires).


Project Implementation

  • Assists with project implementation through configuration, testing, and creating written instructional material such as Quick Reference Guides and Work Instructions.
  • Supports the Canada Talent Team on various projects and key initiatives throughout the year (e.g., Acquisitions, Extended Vacation Program, CFE (Common Final Exam) leave program, Accomplishments data collection.)


Day- to-Date Talent Operations

  • Supports day-to-day Talent operations including EY Canada’s vacation tool, Provisioning Notification System, and Pre-hire Compliance site. Supports enhancements of existing HR systems by participating in system testing.
  • Acts as level 2 support in ServiceNow for ongoing maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of SuccessFactors, and other global and local HR systems.
  • Maintains content in knowledge databases that provides Talent information for local audiences (e.g., SharePoint, EY policy repository) .
  • Assists in completing analysis to assess impact of new enhancements/initiatives (ex. ServiceNow release, Financial system upgrades, SuccessFactors release)
  • May be called upon to produce people-related reports.

  • Superior attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to seek our answers to questions and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly and effectively.
  • High level of customer service and relationship management skills including listening and responding effectively.
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders across the organization and withthird-party talent managed services provider.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in HR systems administration and operations
  • Experience with SuccessFactors would be an asset
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $56,400 to $84,600. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
