What you will do

EY Indirect Tax provides a wide range of domestic and international tax services, assisting clients with state income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, credits & incentives, value-added taxes, global trade, employment tax, transactions and more across a variety of industries.

As an Intern in our Indirect Tax practice, your role will include:

• Building a broad base of knowledge and technical competence by staying current on trends, developments and technical authorities, applying them to complex situations impacting both direct and indirect taxes.

• Conducting in-depth research and analyzing client issues to better understand and address client needs.

• Building client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of client business and delivering high-quality, timely services that surpass client expectations.

• Managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Demonstrating professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.

• Contributing to team success by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery.

Job requirements and preferences

• Required qualifications

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with progress towards an LLM in Taxation or JD.

• Membership or anticipated membership in a US state bar.

• A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.

• Excellent communication skills and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.

• Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
