What you will do
Quantitative Economics and Statistics (QUEST) is an interdisciplinary team of economists, statisticians, and business analysts that assists corporations, governments, industry groups, and international development organizations with a variety of sophisticated quantitative analyses with services related to policy-focused economic analysis, statistical sampling, survey design and implementation, and other quantitative analytics. QUEST also functions as one of EY’s internal think tanks, providing analyses of important issues to inform our clients’ strategies.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing quantitative analyses of state and local, federal, and global policy issues, including cost/revenue implications of proposed tax policies.
Analyzing the economic impact of industries, companies, new facilities, or international development policies.
Designing statistical samples and reviewing and validating modeling or analytic methods.
Designing survey questionnaires, implementing surveys, and analyzing and reporting results.
Programming in Stata, Python, R, and SAS, and building models in Excel.
Job requirements and preferences
Required qualifications
A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; supported by a strong academic record.
Upper-level coursework in economics, statistics, or related areas.
Based in the Washington, DC area or willing to relocate.
Preferred qualifications
A strong academic record with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.
Upper-level coursework in economics, statistics, or related areas.
Experience with statistical programming software and database management (like Stata, Python, R, SAS, and building models in Excel).
Relevant experience through summer employment or research internships.
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
