GRC Consultant, Copenhagen

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all. Do you want to be part of one of the World’s leading consultancies? Do you have an analytical mindset and want to apply your quantitative excellence to challenging projects within the financial sector? Then you could be our new colleague in the Governance, Risk and Compliance team!

The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Consultant to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team within the Financial Services department at our Copenhagen office. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional GRC services to our clients, primarily financial institutions in the Nordic Countries. We collaborate closely with EY colleagues both nationally and internationally to help our clients navigate complex regulatory challenges and optimize their risk management practices.

As a member of our GRC team, you will contribute to a range of services, including governance processes and controls, compliance program development, tracking regulatory change, and risk management.

The GRC team is experiencing significant growth due to the increasing demand for robust risk and compliance programs. Despite the fast-paced nature of our work, we value work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements. We foster a vibrant and social atmosphere, and we welcome new team members who are eager to contribute both professionally and socially.

Your key responsibilities

As a GRC consultant, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our clients' governance structures, risk management capabilities, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. From day one, you will be immersed in a variety of projects that will challenge you to apply your knowledge and skills in innovative ways.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of GRC frameworks and strategies.
  • Organizing and facilitating workshops and training sessions on GRC topics.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Participating in and contributing to Danish, Nordic, and international professional networks and learning events.
  • For more experienced candidates, leading project teams and mentoring junior colleagues.

Our team has a Nordic focus, and as such, you will have the opportunity to work with clients and colleagues across the region and occasionally on an international scale. Some travel may be required.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Delivering quality solutions to our clients
  • Bringing a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Engaging through teamwork across the organization

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A strong analytical mindset and a track record of academic or professional excellence.
  • Prior experience in GRC is beneficial but not mandatory, as we welcome applications from recent graduates as well.
  • An academic background in law, finance, business administration, risk management, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish as majority of our clients are Danish.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Proficiency in one or more software tools (SQL, Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI and others)
  • The ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines and lead projects.

What we look for

You are ambitious, outgoing and have a positive attitude. You see potential and opportunities instead of problems. You thrive in a high-paced environment with occasional short deadlines and working on more than one engagement at a time doesn’t scare you.

Moreover, you are capable of presenting complex issues in a simple way, you work well in teams as well as on your own, and you take responsibility for your tasks and goals. You support your colleagues wherever possible and see the benefit in investing in the relationship to both the team and our clients alike.

What we offer

  • Continuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.
  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

If this role sounds like something you would be interested in, please send your application as soon as possible, and no later than 05 Sep 2024. We will evaluate applications as we receive them. If you have any questions you are welcome to contact Lava Kader at lava.kader@dk.ey.com.
