POSITION OVERVIEW
The Concierge provides concierge services and operational support at BDC’s head office. The role is primarily operational and focused on the day-to-day execution of services, in compliance with quality, health and safety, and internal customer service standards. The Concierge reports to the Team Lead, Facilities Management.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Carry out daily concierge tasks: preparation and resetting of meeting rooms, common areas, and event spaces.
- Ensure functional cleanliness of rooms (light cleaning, refrigerators, microwaves, whiteboards).
- Support catering and event services (deliveries, reset, event support).
- Perform minor moves, furniture relocation, and simple setups.
- Carry out minor repairs and ad hoc work (acoustic tiles, signage, locks, nameplates).
- Respond to requests via internal tools and ensure follow-up through to closure.
- Collaborate with internal teams and Real Estate and Facilities Management teams.
- Coordinate various work requests and service calls with vendors.
- Comply with health, safety, confidentiality standards, and internal procedures.
- Provide courteous and professional service to employees and visitors.
- Act as backup for the mailroom and print shop, ensuring continuity of operations related to receiving, sorting, and distributing mail, as well as printing, reprographics, and scanning services, in accordance with established procedures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Relevant experience in concierge services, maintenance, or building services (an asset).
- Ability to perform physical work (handling up to ~20 lb).
- Good physical condition to perform repetitive and manual tasks.
- Autonomy, reliability, attention to detail, and strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality.
- Demonstrates a strong team spirit by collaborating proactively, respectfully, and constructively with colleagues to achieve shared objectives and foster a positive work environment.
- Ability to follow and absorb training to meet various technical needs, and to apply acquired knowledge in operational activities.
- Proficiency in French; functional English required.
- Proficiency with computer tools and Microsoft suites (Microsoft 365), including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as ServiceNow, with the ability to use them effectively to support operational activities.
