POSITION OVERVIEW
Leadership and People
Responsible for developing people (hiring, creating an environment of psychological safety, giving feedback, coaching and motivating employees), communicating the vision by demonstrating the expected standards and being an example to follow through your actions and promote success.
Provide leadership and direction in the marketing and delivery of the financing and advisory services offering while maintaining accountability for the operations, quality and profitability of these offerings.
Be the agent of change in the dissemination of information to ensure that all employees are aware of, adapt to, and actively participate in changes.
Develop and implement a business development plan to support the growth strategy of the financing and advisory portfolio in the market, in line with the Bank’s strategies and regional strategies.
Results, sales and relationships
Ensure that customer relationship management is in line with our high standards of customer satisfaction while tracking profitability and proactively identifying customer needs to convert opportunities into outcomes aligned with business center goals
Actively plan and develop client acquisition strategies that lead to results and manage key business relationships to ensure a steady flow of business.
Keep up to date with local business opportunities while maintaining an active profile in the business community, participating in associations such as Chambers of Commerce, etc. and being able to make connections with the economic and geopolitical situation.
Manage the activities of the business centre through the team in order to meet and exceed objectives by regularly assessing the quality/quantity of business development activities in financing and advisory services.
Transactions, portfolio, risk and profitability
Responsible for compliance with the company's rules, policies and procedures in all aspects of the life of a loan or mandate advisory services (business development, due diligence, taking guarantees and disbursement, administration and relationship management).
Authorize, deny or recommend loan applications, modifications and disbursements within established parameters, while ensuring rigorous credit analysis focused on risk, know your customer, profitability and quality. Be proactive in managing high-risk situations and communicate with internal partners to restructure transactions, remediate risks and minimize losses.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration
Experience leading a team at BDC or with a previous employer
Demonstrated strength in business development, collaboration and customer relationship management
Leadership and ability to manage and lead a team
In-depth knowledge of BDC's products, services, policies, processes and procedures and ability to provide high-quality customer service to internal and external clients
Good credit judgment and understanding of credit policies and practices
Ability to actively address situations where potential risks are identified
Ability to maintain sound account management practices and a profitable loan portfolio
Good time management and prioritization skills to meet critical deadlines
Business acumen
In-depth understanding of the dynamics of the small business environment
Bilingualism (English and French) is required
