POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Security and Disbursement, is responsible for ensuring that all due diligence and verifications are completed prior to the disbursement of loans. The Manager works on files requiring knowledge and experience in external security processes. The Manager also works in close collaboration with the client, the underwriter, the business development lead, other financial partners and the authorizer to ensure that disbursements respect the Bank’s procedures completed in the most efficient manner possible to ensure excellent customer service.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Approve, decline or recommend disbursement within established parameters.

  • Mandate, instruct and ensure support with solicitor, co-ordinate disbursement with other financial partners

  • Review and/or follow up on letters of offers based on the specific process (i.e., instruction, disbursement, amendment) to ensure that the forms/information are accurate and complete and that requirements and signatures are obtained.

  • Capacity to identify and foresee any problems that the file presents and to propose adapted solutions to ensure overall risk is evaluated correctly.

  • Process disbursement package by ensuring thorough due diligence and sound account management practices.

  • In accordance with the disbursement strategy, promptly disburse loans that have been approved and authorized via the credit adjudication process.

  • Update authorizations, project costs and disbursement strategies to ensure that overall risk is evaluated correctly.

  • Participate in resolving compliance or material changes that arise during the disbursement process.

  • Maintain relationships with business centre personnel and colleagues to foster teamwork, the pursuit of common objectives and the consistent application of policies.

  • Provide excellent customer experience in the resolution of basic client issues and escalate complex issues to senior team members.

  • Keep abreast of changes to policies, procedures and detailed processes and trends in credit and regulatory issues that may have an impact on BDC.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work under high pressure, high volume and handle urgent situations quickly and efficiently.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or accounting.

  • Three to five years of experience in the financial industry or related field.

  • Business savvy with keen technological sense, creative and resourceful.

  • Sound knowledge of commercial lending processes and legal aspects related to security taking.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen and client focus.

  • Ability to manage prioritize to meet critical deadlines.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a changing environment

  • Ability to establish relationships with other team members who work remotely to foster a culture of collaboration to achieve shared objectives.
