POSITION OVERVIEW


The Manager, Portfolio Management will be authorizing amendments and annual reviews within prescribed parameters, while ascertaining that good credit methods are in place.

He or she will also be using delegation of authority to recommend and authorize his or her own amendments working actively with business development teams and clients.

He or she must also establish and maintain strong communications with Regional Directors, Portfolio Management, and employees for close monitoring of the elements that play a key role in the efficiency of the delivery of Portfolio Management services.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Maintain and improve the quality and integrity of the BDC loan portfolio by authorizing, recommending or declining amendments, annual reviews, etc. using your own $1M authorization limit within prescribed timelines and guidelines.

  • Coach, share experience and best practices with team members

  • Provide input and maintain strong communications with Regional Directors, Portfolio Management on all aspects of credit to proactively identify trainings and development opportunities by Regional Directors for their respective teams.

  • Contribute to the Portfolio Management business plan, continuous improvement strategies and proactive management of the loan portfolio by ensuring that correct credit processes are in place and by developing and maintaining strong communications with Portfolio Management leaders and employees.

  • Contribute to identifying and recommending enhancements in policies, guidelines, processes to improve streamlining and efficiency while managing risk, as well as value-added client support and client retention strategy.

  • Closely monitor loan structures, terms, conditions, pricing and fees and identify the actions to be taken, consistent with established guidelines, credit policies, and sound risk management practices.

  • Stay abreast of changes to policies, procedures, processes, and trends that could affect BDC.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or any field deemed relevant

  • The CBV, CPA or CFA designation are considered interesting assets

  • A minimum of three to five years of commercial lending experience as an account manager, credit analyst or copywriter in the banking industry or any other experience deemed relevant

  • Ability to make quick decisions about business context and key issues

  • Strong credit judgment

  • Creative and resourceful

  • Autonomous

  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and under pressure

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and French (Bilingualism is required)

  • Team spirit
