POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the VP and Lead, Enterprise Data, AI and Applications, the AVP of Analytics and AI is a pivotal leader within the Enterprise Data & Analytics Office (EDAO) and is accountable for the development and execution of the organization’s Enterprise Data & AI Strategy and data-driven transformation.
The AVP ensures the strategic mobilization of the organization in leveraging analytics and AI as critical business enablers, creating a data-driven culture that empowers every employee to leverage analytics and AI in their daily activities. This role will strategically leverage the investments made in recent years in BDC’s centralized data platform to unlock and drive substantial business value from our data.
Collaborating closely with Business Leaders, Data & AI Governance and Enterprise Architecture, the AVP leads the development of key capabilities in Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, AI Model Development, Process Automation and Data Visualization. The role also establishes business vision and guides the evolution of the organization’s Data Platform and self-service analytics tools. This role will also strategically leverage the investments made in recent years in BDC’s centralized data platform to unlock and drive substantial business value from our data.
While a foundational understanding or knowledge of technical concepts is important, success is primarily focused on leadership, business acumen and the ability to establish high-performance analytics and AI operations in alignment with rapidly evolving business needs and priorities.

Build a scalable and efficient analytics delivery model that ensures resources are always allocated to highest-impact initiatives and can rapidly deliver high-quality analytics and AI solutions that consistently meet evolving business demands
Champion a compelling talent strategy and create a culture of performance to attract and retain skilled professionals in a competitive market
Enable business for self-service analytics through effective Data Visualization and AI Literacy programs, tooling and oversight
Key Responsibilities
Leads a high-performing team of professionals to ensure the development and alignment of the organization’s enterprise Analytics and AI strategy with its overall business strategy and objectives.
Provides vision and direction on how to prioritize and make decisions with cross-functional impacts when evaluating analytics and AI opportunities.
Operates a robust prioritization framework and provides vision, direction and daily oversight of the analytics delivery model.
Establishes and manages relations with strategic suppliers and partners to secure talent and meet demand for analytics and AI solutions.
Oversees the use of analytics and AI and establishes enterprise-wide roles and responsibilities around analytics and AI solution governance and lifecycle management.
Establishes the business vision and priorities that guide the design and ensure the evolution of the enterprise Data Platform.
Empowers lines of business and support functions to use self-service Data Visualization and analytics tools through effective training programs, standards and oversight.
Establishes clear guidelines for analytics solution governance and lifecycle management and ensures lines of business and support functions that use analytics and AI understand and effectively manage the risks related to their activities.

Monitors and reports on the value generated through analytics and AI.
Ensures the development and oversees the adherence of policies relating to analytics and AI.
Participates in external forums, such as industry conferences, corporate partnerships, and institutional collaborations.
Prepares and analyzes department/unit plans and reports and manages projects to achieve department/unit goals.
Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, fostering teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance, and maintaining open communications.
Develops employees through coaching, providing performance feedback, conducting effective performance assessments, and establishing objectives & development plans.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant domain; an MBA would be considered an asset.
10+ years of experience in leading and managing an analytics team and program.
A strong background in statistical analysis, data science, and business intelligence
Experience with agile analytics and AAAI tools, technologies and methodologies.
Proven ability to lead through influence, drive change and build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, fostering alignment and collaboration across diverse business functions.
Excellent interpersonal communication (written/verbal), team building, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
Expertise in defining and implementing analytics and AI policies, standards, and processes.
Experience in taking initiative and exhibiting creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.
Knowledge and experience in the financial services industry are an asset.
Bilingualism (written/verbal) English and French.
