POSITION OVERVIEW

The AI Engineering Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Generative AI and machine learning solutions that support BDC’s enterprise-wide digital transformation. This role bridges the gap between data science prototypes and scalable production systems, ensuring robust, ethical, and high-performing AI applications.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable AI/ML models, including LLMs, GenAI and Agentic solutions.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into AI solutions.

  • Develop and maintain MLOps pipelines using tools like MLflow and Azure DevOps

  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector-based search for LLMs

  • Monitor and optimize model performance in production environments.

  • Ensure compliance with AI governance, ethical standards, and risk frameworks

  • Data Preparation and Feature Engineering. Design and implement feature extraction pipelines. Ensure data quality and preprocessing for model training.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing. Maintain clear documentation of models, pipelines, and decisions. Contribute to internal wikis, playbooks, or AI governance frameworks.

  • Tooling and Automation. Build internal tools or APIs to make AI capabilities reusable across teams. Automate retraining, monitoring, and alerting systems.

  • Stay Current with AI Trends. Evaluate new research papers, tools, and frameworks. Propose innovative solutions based on emerging technologies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Technical Proficiency: Python, Spark, SQL, Git, Azure and Databricks

  • AI/ML Expertise: Experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Llama), GenAI, NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics

  • MLOps: Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and lifecycle management tools.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, curiosity, accountability, and ability to drive change

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in AI/ML/Data engineering roles, with proven deployment of models into production

  • Bilingual: French and English

Education

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
