The QA Analyst is expected to participate in the full development cycle, beginning with the planning and estimates, test case identification, test case execution and detailed documentation. Working fluidly in a rapidly changing environment with many participants in a collaborative workplace setting will be the norm.
The Person who will join our team as a QA analyst will be assigned to projects delivering financial components that interact with internal and external applications. This in a complex environment comprising several business rules and applications under different technologies.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As part of BDC’s digital transformation, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about innovation and wish to contribute to the development of BDC’s financing services and others offered to our clients via our digital channels. Our objective is to provide an intuitive self-service and omnichannel client experience. The development of our digital services is based on automation, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence in an agile delivery mode. Selected candidates will join a squad responsible for delivering specific functionalities within a product team.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Designs, develops, executes, and maintains testing strategies and plans to ensure stability and efficiency, enabling a seamless customer experience
Identify, document, and track bugs through resolution
Communicate activity status, identify risks and recommend mitigation measures, as well as escalating possible issues
Monitor and track performance and communicate any issues
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies
Identify and suggest potential areas for improvement and/or automation to improve efficiency
Be an active participant in Agile ceremonies and team meetings
Gain knowledge in own area, stay abreast of technological trends and developments
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
8 years of experience as a QA analyst or in a similar position.
Solid understanding of Testing methodologies (Test lifecycle, bug lifecycle, Functional, Regression and Business Acceptance testing)
Ability to work in Agile environments
Understanding of release flow and experience working in different environments needed before production
Enthusiasm and willingness to foster a culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism
Proficiency using test/bug management applications such as Azure DevOps
Experience with API testing
Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence
Team player who collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams
Understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), feature flagging, etc.
Strong communication skills – Ability to convey both technical and business-related ideas
Experience working with Relational databases like SQL server and MySQL (is an asset)
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and Git (is an asset)
Experience developing and executing automated tests (is an asset)
Experience developing and executing performance/load tests (is an asset)
Knowledge of transactional client operation applications related to Financing domain (is an asset)
Knowledge of the DDD (Domain Driven Design) approach (is an asset)
A degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
Bilingual (French and English)
