POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Business Enablement (BE) will lead a national team that has for objective to drive the productivity and the effectiveness of our Business Development teams. To reach this objective the VP, BE develops a clear perspective on the main drivers of productivity and effectiveness of business development (BD) teams and the ongoing activities and new initiatives that will optimise BD team performance. Working in collaboration with the lines of business (LOB) / region and functions, the VP, BE define and oversee the implementation of the initiatives with the greatest impact to effort ratio to drive performance.
To accomplish these objectives, the VP, BE acts as the integration hub between the business and support functions to enhance the experience of the front-line, remove complexity, increase end-to-end productivity and ensure a world-class client experience. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of BDC BD financial services and their operations, deep expertise in building Business Enablement functions and experience imbedding this function within an organization to excel. They will possess excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong understanding of support functions across the organization, including but not limited to: IT, Marketing, and Human Resources. The VP, BE lead in a cross-functional environment and will be responsible execute an integrated strategic vision across the three pillars of the Business Enablement function:
The Sales Enablement team is dedicated to equipping financing, ensuring an end-to-end oversight of the loan journey, with the standard processes, tools, resources, and learning & development program needed to enhance productivity and effectiveness, drive business growth and foster an exceptional client experience.
The Business Applications team is responsible for assessing and identifying business software application needs and collaborate closely with IT to manage and evolve these tools that to better support various business functions and objectives.
The Operations Support team ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of BDC's business operations by providing administrative and technical support, to resolve issues. As the support desk for business applications, they oversee application performance, resolve incidents and support problem solving. The team’s scope also includes COO procurement lead, business continuity plan and BDCPedia.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Support the on-going Sales Management oversight and analysis at COO LT level and its coherent cascade throughout the BD organization.
Gather information, optimize, coordinate and oversee the communication and deployment of national information and initiatives throughout the organization to minimize disruption and ensure high understanding and adoption.
Define and execute an integrated strategy and roadmap related to process, software applications and ways of working, that align with the bank's overall objectives, focusing on accelerating sales productivity
Communicate a clear and integrated strategic vision and effectively lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance business enablement capabilities, including but not limited to: Sales Management Framework, Business Lead of CLICS Performance and Evolution, Development Banker, etc.
Responsible for the development and delivery of the COO’s development and learning program anchored on our 4 functional competencies: Credit Acumen, Business Acumen, Sales Management and Client Relationship Management.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for Business Enablement function and monitor sales effectiveness to demonstrate gains in productivity
Oversee the delivery and health of our portfolio of initiatives, ensuring effective communication and alignment with business stakeholders
Oversee, in close partnership with IT, the day-to-day operations of business applications, and drive roadmap to enhance performance of software applications to increase productivity of the front-line
Collaborate with partners across Continuous Improvement and Change Management Functions to ensure effective deployment and adoption strategies of enablement tools across the sales organization to deliver sustainable value
Develop and foster relationships with external networks, financial and business communities, to keep abreast of emerging trends and drive innovation at BDC
Oversee, in close partnership with IT, the day-to-day operations of business applications, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently
Lead the Business Continuity Planning
Act as the business point-of-contact for procurement (services and business applications in our portfolio)
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor or Master in Commerce or Finance or Business Administration
15 years of relevant experience in commercial lending, advisory services and people leadership
Relevant sales insight, field experience a key asset, including a deep understanding of the sales cycles and business lines supporting the sales functions acquired in receent field experience
Desmonstrated experience in leading entreprise-wide business initiatives
Deep understanding of IT functions and demonstrated success implementing Business Application and IT projects to drive business enablement and operational efficiency
Ability to define and transpose a strategic vision into a business roadmap and ensure its execution
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across business lines and regions bringing a positive influence.
Strong critical thinking, strategic implementation and execution skills
Ability to lead and implement change across business lines
Innovative proactive thinking
Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Engaging leadership and ability to rally stakeholders to a common strategic vision
Fully bilingual in French and English, both verbal and written
