Toronto Metropolitan University is reshaping the downtown core of Toronto with three new buildings: the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, the Toronto Metropolitan University Image Centre in the heart of campus, and a Student Learning Centre on Yonge Street. In addition, currently in progress is the development of a new multipurpose building, the Church Street development (CSD). This new building will be located just north of Dundas on Church Street and will be home to four academic health services programs, Toronto Met. University food services, administration, and a student residence.

Responsibilities

Invigilators will supervise the writing of tests and exams for the general Toronto Metropolitan University student population.

Duties:

Set-up and take-down: Set-up may include the collection/delivery of the tests or examinations, moving desks and chairs, distributing exams, checking student ID cards, taking attendance and making an announcement about Toronto Metropolitan University Exam Regulations. Clean up may include collecting and sorting exams, moving desks and chairs and returning the exams to the departmental office. Other related duties may be required.

Invigilation: Circulate to observe students writing the exam, enforce Toronto Metropolitan University Exam Regulations, escort students to the washroom and report or respond to incidents. Other related duties may be required.

Hours*: You will be paid for the duration of the exam plus the additional time to assist before and after the exam as noted below.

• Shift Times for Classrooms & KHW271: Invigilators are to arrive 15 min. before the exam start time and stay 15 min. after the exam to assist.
• Shift Times at the MAC: Invigilators are to arrive 30 min. before the exam start time and stay 15 min. after to assist.

You will be paid on a per-exam basis. The contract hours in the offer letter are a general estimate. Your total hours may vary depending on the number of invigilation opportunities available, the duration of exams and your availability.

The confirmed schedule will be emailed to you by the department of Electrical, Computer & Biomedical Engineering. By accepting this contract, you commit to invigilation shifts that are assigned to you by the department.

· Preference is given to current Toronto Metropolitan University graduate students in MASc or PhD

· Other applicants will be considered if no qualified Toronto Metropolitan University graduate student is available

Experience:

Past invigilation and/or AA experience is an asset.
