Toronto Metropolitan University is reshaping the downtown core of Toronto with three new buildings: the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, the Toronto Metropolitan University Image Centre in the heart of campus, and a Student Learning Centre on Yonge Street. In addition, currently in progress is the development of a new multipurpose building, the Church Street development (CSD). This new building will be located just north of Dundas on Church Street and will be home to four academic health services programs, Toronto Met. University food services, administration, and a student residence.

*Actual hours may vary at offer time dependent on qualifications and determined rate of pay. Employees can work up to a maximum of 130 hours per term or 390 hours per academic year. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum Required

• Successful completion of a relevant undergraduate degree program**
• Successful completion of a university level “Introduction to Human Resources Management” course. Applicants must have obtained a minimum grade of at least a B+ (77%) in their university level HRM course. Applicants will have taken at least one HR course within the last 5 years
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet assigned deadlines
• University transcripts provided
• References available

Preferred

• Currently enrolled as a Master’s or PhD student; pay is dependent on whether incumbent has an undergrad degree (TA rate) or is enrolled in a Masters or PhD program (GA rates)
• With previous evaluation of performance as a TA or GA at the University
• Specializing in human resources management
• With previous experience in academic grading

**Note: Students with an undergraduate degree in HRM will also be considered as TAs if we are unable to fill the positions with GAs
