Are you passionate about building meaningful industry and alumni connections that create exceptional opportunities for students? The Manager, Work-Integrated Learning, Partnerships and Alumni Engagement plays a key role in advancing student success by leading work-integrated learning (WIL) initiatives, cultivating strategic corporate partnerships, and fostering lifelong alumni engagement across The Creative School.
This position oversees internship and experiential learning programs, develops and maintains high-impact industry relationships, and drives business development initiatives that enhance the faculty’s profile and expand opportunities for students. The role also leads the implementation of a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy and manages the stewardship of funders, donors, and sponsors, ensuring effective recognition, relationship management, and reporting. Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the Manager strengthens the faculty’s network and contributes to its long-term growth and success.
Key responsibilities:
- Develops and executes a partnership framework and related plans to cultivate and build strong relationships with prospective industry partners and stakeholders and grow relationships with existing partners.
- Engages with peers in the field to raise the profile and reputation of The Creative School and the university as a premier choice for employer organizations and campus recruitment.
- Works closely with the Director, develops and implements alumni outreach strategies to connect with and engage alumni through targeted events, communications and guest speaking opportunities. Ensures alignment with university alumni strategies and initiatives.
- Organizes and implements career workshops, networking events, and speaker panels involving alumni to support the career readiness of current students.
- Oversees the stewardship of funders, donors and sponsors, including tracking and management to ensure compliance and continuity across programs. Plans and organizes appropriate recognition programs to ensure prompt and appropriate acknowledgement in accordance with the donor’s desires, expectations and with university policies.
- Designs and conducts rigorous assessment evaluations of program delivery to assess student and client satisfaction.
- Assembles and maintains statistical reports on placement program activity and maintains records to inform departmental planning and resource allocation.
- Manages and supervises staff, assigns and prioritizes tasks, establishes goals, sets expectations and evaluates performance. Hires, trains, develops and performance manages assigned staff. Monitors performance and provides feedback to staff on performance. Disciplines, carries out corrective action and makes recommendations on termination, as appropriate.
Qualifications

- Completion of a post-secondary degree in the creative industries or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in internship programming within an academic setting.
- Progressive experience in the field of partnership development, including planning and organizing campaign cultivation events and development stewardship programs for partners and funders.
- Experience managing staff in a unionized environment.
- Advanced ability to develop and lead networks with senior executives and industry leaders.
- Deep understanding of how to integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion into career services and partnership frameworks.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and data analysis to track outcomes, metrics, and program success.
- Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills to promote the school’s strategic priorities at conferences, events, and in virtual environments.
- Ability to make decisions regarding partnership suitability and recommend program strategies.
- Equivalent experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education may be accepted in place of education.
