Toronto Metropolitan University is reshaping the downtown core of Toronto with three new buildings: the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, the Toronto Metropolitan University Image Centre in the heart of campus, and a Student Learning Centre on Yonge Street. In addition, currently in progress is the development of a new multipurpose building, the Church Street development (CSD). This new building will be located just north of Dundas on Church Street and will be home to four academic health services programs, Toronto Met. University food services, administration, and a student residence.
Attending employer orientation workshops; attending mandatory employer training (if applicable).
Performing invigilation duties for mid-term and/or final exams as required.
1.5 to 4.0 Estimated Total Hours of Work*
*Actual hours may vary at offer time dependent on qualifications and determined rate of pay. Employees can work up to a maximum of 130 hours per semester or 390 hours per academic. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.
Qualification Description:
- applicants must NOT be current undergraduate students
- previous invigilation experience preferred
- strong knowledge of exam policy, procedures, and academic integrity preferred
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attending employer orientation workshops; attending mandatory employer training.
- Invigilating tests and exams
- Maintaining academic integrity by strictly adhering to the University’s regulations, policies, and procedures regarding tests/exams;
- Maintaining confidentiality of student and test/exam information;
- Setting up exam rooms and keeping test/exam rooms organized;
- Documenting any incidents during tests/exam and reporting incidents to professor
- Preparing completed exams for pick-up/delivery;
- Performing invigilation duties for on-campus mid-term and/or final exams as required.
- Any other duties assigned.
Required skills include:
- Oral and written communication skills. Invigilators should be able to provide clear, concise, and factual reports in business English.
- Ability to handle emergency situations effectively
- Able to manage stressful situations with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Understanding of Toronto Metropolitan University test/exam policies and procedures
- Punctuality and reliability are essential
- Ability to use tact/discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential situations
