About the Role

  • Team Leadership: Direct the career growth and performance of four engineers, providing consistent coaching and feedback to maximize employee retention and technical excellence.

  • Operational Excellence: Refine engineering processes to ensure the team delivers high-quality results on a predictable schedule while balancing technical debt against product roadmap needs.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with the Cloud Governance team on identity strategies and partner with SEO, Platform, and InfoSec teams to resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment bottlenecks.

  • Strategic Planning: Work with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop the team charter, business metrics, and quarterly roadmaps that align with Redfin’s overall engineering vision.

About You

  • Leadership Experience: You have 2+ years of experience in a formal engineering management role, with a proven ability to prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders and delegate effectively.

  • Technical Expertise: You possess 5+ years of experience with AWS networking and edge delivery services, including CloudFront, API Gateway, and VPC Lattice.

  • Scaling Proficiency: You have a track record of managing multi-account cloud environments and scaling infrastructure to handle high-volume, public-facing consumer traffic.

  • Automation & Tooling: You are highly proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Spacelift) and cloud observability platforms such as Datadog or CloudWatch.
