  • Has an unwavering moral compass, always does the right thing in a reliable way, and treats all fairly and respectfully.

The Requirements:
To be seriously considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

Education: Accounting Designation (CPA completed or in progress required)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ of progressive accounting experience, including experience within an insurance brokerage environment;
  • Hands-on experience and strong proficiency with Vertafore SIG and/or Applied Epic accounting system;
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements applicable to the insurance brokerage industry;
  • Demonstrated ability to execute detailed accounting work while providing effective leadership;
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including application of GAAP and ASPE;

  • Ability to work with the highest level of diplomacy and confidentiality.

The Responsibilities:

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with managing all accounting functions, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting;
  • Actively perform and review day-to-day accounting activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness;
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately classified;
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (ASPE), insurance regulatory requirements, and internal control standards;
  • Understand the internal customer in order to recommend and implement new management financial tools and reports;
  • Assist with the development of financial planning, modelling and forecasting;
  • Preparing for and participating in annual financial statement preparation as well as any government or client audits;
  • Support the preparation of materials for board meetings;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team through hands-on coaching, guidance, and example;
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training to strengthen technical expertise and operational effectiveness.

The Benefits:

  • Enjoy a competitive compensation package;
  • Access comprehensive medical and dental benefits that will come in force on your first day as an employee;
  • Experience the heart of Toronto’s financial district when in the office. PROLINK is steps away from Union Station and is connected to St. Andrew subway station;
  • Work for a company that has the best of both worlds: the professionalism and success of a corporate environment, with the family-oriented and collaborative feel of a small business;
  • Grow your career in an organization that loves to recognize and reward its top talent;
  • Relish in the comfort of working from home and from our office (as circumstances permit and require).
