Summary:
The Performance Testing Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and responsiveness of software systems under real-world conditions. This individual is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive performance testing strategies to identify bottlenecks, optimize system performance, and support seamless user experiences. By leveraging advanced testing tools and methodologies, the Performance Testing Lead collaborates closely with development, QA, and operations teams to proactively address performance risks before production deployment. This role is essential in maintaining high system availability, meeting SLAs, and supporting the organization’s commitment to delivering robust, high-performing applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement end-to-end performance testing strategies aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using industry-standard tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling)
  • Conduct load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing across web, mobile, and API-based applications
  • Analyze performance metrics and generate detailed reports with actionable insights for engineering teams
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to monitor and optimize system behavior under peak loads
  • Establish performance benchmarks and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for application health
  • Lead performance testing efforts across multiple environments (staging, pre-production, production)
  • Mentor junior testing team members and promote best practices in performance engineering

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in performance testing with proven expertise in load and stress testing
  • Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of performance testing into automated workflows
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex performance data
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Certification in performance testing or related domains (e.g., ISTQB Advanced, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable
