Job Summary
The Foreclosure Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support to Attorneys and Paralegals within the Foreclosure Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Open files and complete tasks within a tax lien foreclosure action including but not limited to filing of papers, mailing out motion papers to defendants, and updating outside counsel contact information.
- Ensure all documents are properly filed, updated, and accessible in the Firm’s case management systems.
- Work with the process service companies to obtain affidavits of service and pay service invoices.
- Review and proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with court and client requirements.
- Handle mailings, including certified and overnight deliveries, as required for foreclosure processes.
- Assist with court filings and motion dates.
- Monitor and update the Foreclosure Motion Calendar.
- Perform skip tracing searches using Acris, Accurint and Bankruptcy Pacer.
- Liaise with court staff and third-party vendors and outside counsel to facilitate document processing and case progression.
- Work effectively and efficiently with all team members.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required.
- Law firm experience preferred with knowledge of workflow processes (opening/closing files, work flow, court processes).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of foreclosure laws, legal terminology, and court procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
