Job Summary

The Foreclosure Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support to Attorneys and Paralegals within the Foreclosure Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Open files and complete tasks within a tax lien foreclosure action including but not limited to filing of papers, mailing out motion papers to defendants, and updating outside counsel contact information.
  • Ensure all documents are properly filed, updated, and accessible in the Firm’s case management systems.
  • Work with the process service companies to obtain affidavits of service and pay service invoices.
  • Review and proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with court and client requirements.
  • Handle mailings, including certified and overnight deliveries, as required for foreclosure processes.
  • Assist with court filings and motion dates.
  • Monitor and update the Foreclosure Motion Calendar.
  • Perform skip tracing searches using Acris, Accurint and Bankruptcy Pacer.
  • Liaise with court staff and third-party vendors and outside counsel to facilitate document processing and case progression.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with all team members.
  • Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required.
  • Law firm experience preferred with knowledge of workflow processes (opening/closing files, work flow, court processes).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of foreclosure laws, legal terminology, and court procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
