This position is located at the Shepody Healing Center (SHC) in Dorchester, New-Brunswick. SHC is a Regional Treatment Centre (RTC).
Duties
Manages the provision of interdisciplinary clinical services to support the social development, adaptation, adjustment and rehabilitation of federal offenders, within a Regional Treatment Centre (RTC) setting (Psychiatric Hospital or Intermediate Mental Health Care Unit); provides direction and leadership on clinical case management, coordination and delivery of assessment and clinical treatment programs; develops and maintains effective communications within the CSC and with other professional organizations and community agencies.
Work environment
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering court imposed sentences of a term of two years or more. CSC manages various security level institutions and supervises offenders under conditional release in the community. CSC’s mandate is to contribute to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and human control.

EDUCATION
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant health care field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychoeducation).
EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant* experience in clinical case management and/or coordination and delivery of assessment, and clinical treatment programs to a population with mental health needs.
*Recent and significant experience is normally gained over 3 consecutive years within the last 5 years.

• Knowledge of the issues and trends affecting the management and delivery of clinical interventions and treatment programs.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and Correctional Service Canada policies (e.g. Commissioner’s Directives).
• Knowledge of professional Standards of Practice for their discipline.
