Duties
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, managing and leading the implementation of short-term facilities management projects for the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) in coordination with parliamentary partners delivering technical and logistical support to PPS.
Work environment
The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. PPS has its own classification, compensation system and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

Intent of the process
The purpose of this recruitment and selection process is to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates to staff one (1) position on a term basis.
The pool may also be used in the future to staff similar positions within the PPS and for other organizations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a field related to the duties of the position such as, but not limited to, interior design, architectural, engineering technology OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCES:
E1- Recent* and significant** experience in Facilities Management and overseeing the day-to-day operations of office buildings, warehouses, or other facilities (tenant services, maintenance, building services, expenses tracking).
E2- Experience interpreting schematics and, floor plans and technical documents.
E3- Recent* and significant** experience supporting/coordinating and documenting real property facilities projects as well as establishing timelines for project delivery (renovations, relocations, installations).
E4- Recent* experience in space planning, workspace allocation and implementing space re-configuration and layout, architectural, free-standing furniture, and modular workstation systems.
E5- Experience in the preparation of statement of requirement for both consultant and/or contractor services.
E6- Experience in reviewing and analyzing client requisitions, in assessing client needs, and providing options and solutions that meet client requirements while adhering to policy standards and guidelines.
DEFINITIONS:
*Recent means within the last four (4) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a given period of time.

EXPERIENCES:
AE1- Experience in being a part of and/or supporting multi-disciplinary project teams.
AE2- Experience in escorting and/or assigning work to contractors and verification of work completion and quality assurance.
KNOWLEDGE:
AK1- Knowledge of Autocad drawing software.

Conditions of employment
You must be eligible to obtain both a Site Access Clearance and an Enhanced Reliability Status. The process involves a background investigation that includes:
• a loyalty assessment;
