Duties
IT Team Leader, Infrastructure Operations:
► Deploy and manage portions of computing infrastructure such as:
• Service Desk Management
• Life Cycle management
• Networks
• Desktop Support
► Supervision of IT staff including the assignment of tasks and performance evaluations.
► IT Asset provisioning and management.
► IT client services such as AV/VC Services and Telephony Services.

Intent of the process
📌 Due to operational requirements of these positions, please note that physical presence is required in the position’s base location, which includes 100% in-office presence. Telework is not available for these positions.
📌 The immediate intent of this poster is to fill one (1) indeterminate position in Edmonton (Alberta) and one (1) indeterminate position in Vancouver (British Columbia). Qualified candidates from this process who are currently located in Edmonton (Alberta) and Vancouver (British Columbia), respectively, will be given first consideration.
It is also anticipated that this process may be used in the future to staff one (1) position in Winnipeg (Manitoba). Applicants are encouraged to apply if this is a location of interest to you.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term and acting basis. It may also be used to staff similar positions in other work locations within Indigenous Services Canada.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.*
*NOTES:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. EXPERIENCE:
*Recent and **significant experience providing technical support in an Information Technology (IT) Service Desk environment supporting: Email service, Windows desktops and desktop applications and network account management.
Significant** experience in analyzing Information Technology (IT) or Information Management (IM) issues and providing recommendations or solutions to staff, supervisors or managers.
Recent* experience in providing advice and guidance to clients and management on issues related to Information Management and/or Information Technology (IM/IT).
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients.
Experience managing financial resources including estimating costs, budget tracking, and reporting.
* Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last three years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of two years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or some other specialty relevant to the position.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification.
Relevant industry certifications (including but not limited to PMP, Microsoft, Oracle).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in life cycle management of IT assets.
Experience in life cycle management of IM.
Experience in procurement of goods or services in the Federal Government.
Experience in researching and presenting future and technological strategies to management.
Significant** experience working in an Electronic Document Records Management System such as the OpenText software system or GCdocs.
Significant** experience in leading teams, projects, or work groups.
Significant** experience in the collaboration of projects with various internal and/or external stakeholders.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of two years.
