Duties
STREAM 1 (CR-04): Administrative Assistant
Provides clerical and administrative/operational support services and related information/guidance, typically in support of a specific function or a program area in a field unit.
STREAM 2 (AS-01): Executive Assistant I / Administrative Services Officer I / Human Resources Assistant
Provides administrative and executive support services and related information for the efficient and effective management of the office of a manager; provides administrative services, support, and advice in one functional area in a field unit; or provides generalist, multi-function human resources support services within the Parks Canada Agency.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Intent of the process
This process is intended to fill anticipatory vacancies of various tenures in the Jasper Field Unit.
This process will also be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in the same or other parts of the country.

EDUCATION (BOTH STREAMS):
Completion of secondary school or Public Service Commission approved alternative.
EXPERIENCE - STREAM 1 (CR-04):
• Recent* experience providing administrative support services such as: purchasing, material management, records/information management, processing financial and human resources records, data entry, preparing correspondence, arranging travel and meetings, recording minutes, and/or managing multiple e-mail and calendar accounts.
• Experience planning, organizing, and prioritizing work within an office environment with changing demands.
• Experience preparing, editing, and formatting written correspondence such as reports, letters, and emails.
*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last 5 years.
EXPERIENCE - STREAM 2 (AS-01):
• Recent* and significant** experience providing administrative support services such as: purchasing, material management, records/information management, processing financial and human resources records, data entry, preparing correspondence, arranging travel and meetings, recording minutes, and/or managing multiple e-mail and calendar accounts.
• Experience planning, organizing, and prioritizing work within an office environment with changing demands.
• Experience preparing, editing, and formatting written correspondence such as reports, letters, and emails.
• Experience in working in a client serviced environment such as responding to requests for information from internal and/or external clients.
* Recent experience refers to experiences acquired in the past 5 years.
** Significant experience refers to experience acquired as a main component of your work responsibilities for a minimum of 1 year.

ASSET EXPERIENCE (BOTH STREAMS):
• Experience working with organizations in protected area management and/or Indigenous government.
• Experience working with confidential human resources related data such as payroll, staffing and employee data.
• Experience tracking or monitoring finances for a business unit, such as managing a budget.

• Ability to plan and organize an administrative support workload;
