POSITION LOCATION / WORK ARRANGEMENT:
The designated worksite for this position is the Ottawa (ON) OSFI Office. However, the employee may work from the Ottawa (ON), Toronto (ON), Montreal (QC), and Vancouver (BC) office.

OSFI’s hybrid model includes telework and mandatory onsite presence. The terms of the employee’s telework arrangement will be established in accordance with the Directive on Telework and the Guidelines on Hybrid Work. These arrangements must be reviewed annually, at a minimum, and can be subject to change.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Manager, Cyber Security, the Senior Cyber Security Analyst provides program support in the areas of incident response and coordination; threat and vulnerability management; and cyber security risk assessment to facilitate the protection of OSFI’s networks and systems.

The primary duties include:
• Providing immediate response activities to mitigate cyber events and incidents in coordination with teams in Infrastructure and Technology Services (as appropriate). This includes planning and developing courses of action; prioritizing activities; supporting recovery and post-incident analysis.
• Overseeing the development and updating of operational policy instruments in support of threat and vulnerability assessment activities.
• Contributing to the support of an enterprise Cyber Security program framework, security control framework, risk register, on-going governance reporting, and executive dashboards and reports.

💵 Compensation: OSFI offers a competitive salary, and employees may be eligible for in-range increases and economic adjustments. Salaries are based on qualifications, experience and knowledge. Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative BBB/BBB on an indeterminate (permanent) basis.

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic requirements and/or profiles, security requirements, tenures, and/or locations within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree OR diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in computer science, information technology, cyber security or other relevant field.
OR
An acceptable combination of relevant experience AND education or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Significant** experience performing cyber security related functions in a medium to large-scale organization.
• Recent* and significant** experience in cyber security incident response and coordination.
• Recent* and significant** experience assessing and managing security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Experience conducting cyber security risk assessments.
• Experience in the development and implementation of cyber security technical and procedural controls.

*Recent is defined as relevant experience gained within approximately the last two (2) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of five (5) years.
