Duties
Working with the senior realty and development advisor, categorize and review large, medium and minor development applications, and issue development and building permits. Work with the public to facilitate understanding of land-use and development processes; work with the compliance officer to ensure compliance with landscaping, architectural motifs, safety codes, and other policies, laws and regulations.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Intent of the process
This process will be used to fill five vacancies in support of Jasper recovery after the July 2024 wildfire that impinged on the townsite.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in same or other parts of the country.

EDUCATION:
University degree or college diploma or certificate in planning, urban studies, architecture, construction related trade, or other related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Researching and analyzing legislation, policies, and/or authorities related to development;
• Reviewing and analyzing architectural and engineering plans for conformance with planning and development criteria;
• Providing advice regarding development and/or land use issues;
• Engaging with stakeholder groups and the general public on development and/or land use issues.
