Intent of the process

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions, at the same group and level and various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, casual employment, part-time worker, assignment and secondment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION – Stream 1 (CT-EAV-01) and Stream 2 (CT-EAV-02):
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting and auditing, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION – Stream 2 only (CT-EAV-02):
• Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

EXPERIENCE – Stream 1 only (CT-EAV-01):
• Experience in the planning, execution and reporting of audits and/or other similar projects.
• Experience in performing financial reviews.
• Experience in using word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

EXPERIENCE – Stream 2 only (CT-EAV-02):
• Recent* and significant** experience in the planning, execution and reporting of audits and/or other similar projects.
• Experience in performing financial reviews.
• Recent* and significant** experience in using word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Definitions:
*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
**Significant is defined as 2 or more years in duration.

ASSET - OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION – Stream 1 only (CT-EAV-01):
• Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

ASSET - EXPERIENCE – Stream 1 (CT-EAV-01) and Stream 2 (CT-EAV-02):
• Experience in performing financial reviews and audits of grain company operations.
• Experience working in or collaborating with the Canadian grain industry.
• Experience applying or interpreting the Canada Grain Act, Regulations, and Orders in a professional context.
• Experience interacting with the Canadian Grain Commission and utilizing its services.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS – Stream 1 (CT-EAV-01) and Stream 2 (CT-EAV-02):
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Adherence to CGC safety standards and procedures.

Note: Candidates may be required to meet one or more of the criteria under Asset Qualifications, Operational Requirements and/or Organizational Needs, depending upon the specific requirements of the position(s) being staffed.

• Ability to conduct research to obtain the knowledge required to perform specific tasks.

OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT – Stream 1 (CT-EAV-01) and Stream 2 (CT-EAV-02):
• Must have a valid driver’s license or personal mobility in the time and manner normally associated with possession and use of a driver’s license.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Availability and willingness to undergo job-related training.
• Availability and willingness to travel within North America.

OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT – Stream 2 only (CT-EAV-02):
• Accounting designation must be maintained up-to-date and in good standing.
