Maintenance Support Services

The MSS (Maintenance Support Services) group within PSPC offers a comprehensive range of services to federal departments, including heritage stone masonry, signage, welding, transportation, carpentry and electrical work with a commitment to the preservation and restauration of buildings.

Intent of the process

📢 A pool of partially or fully assessed candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada, with various security requirements, different linguistic profiles and/or tenures.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

This position needs to have the Red Seal mention in Bricklayer.

💼Experience:

• Experience working on heritage and non-heritage structures and buildings made of stone, brick and all other masonry such as : repair, restoration, conservation, consolidation and restoration
• Appreciable* experience managing employees
• Appreciable* experience in developing and managing heritage masonry projects
• Experience in preparing financial estimates and statements of work.

*Appreciable experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the execution of a diverse range of diverse activities. This includes the extent, depth, complexity and diversity of tasks and cases.

Secret security clearance

• Candidate must be willing and able to work in and around a construction site, climb ladders and scaffolds as required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s licence.
• Must comply with all safety requirements and regulations re: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety training.
• Work overtime on short notice
• Willing and able to travel occasionally or as needed
