Duties
1. Conduct Literature Review: Perform a comprehensive review of existing literature related to time series clustering, stochastic modeling, and occupant behavior simulation.
2. Preprocess and Analyze Data: Extract and preprocess Time of Use data, perform clustering, and analyze the results.
3. Develop Models: Create transition matrices and Markov models for generating stochastic schedules.
4. Validate and Refine Models: Validate models using actual Time of Use data and refine based on findings.
5. Integrate Models: Assist in integrating the developed models with NRCan’s platforms.
6. Report and Publication: Prepare and submit various reports and research papers based on the project's findings and methodologies.

Education:
Must be in their first year of a PhD program, about to start a PhD, or have recently completed a master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil or Building Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines).
Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. Proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date and the student must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.
Experience:
Experience with data analysis and handling large datasets.
Note: In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

Asset Experience:
Experience in software development.
