Duties
Conduct research, consolidate information, participate in the development and coordinate the implementation of Kouchibouguac National Park’s partnership and engagement plans and tools.
Research and assess partnership opportunities and make recommendations to senior management. Support the implementation of Kouchibouguac National Park’s partnership agreements, particularly liaising and establishing and coordinating a Kouchibouguac National Park Former Residents Advisory Committee.
Participate in working groups responsible for developing partnership strategies, guidelines and tools and implementing engagement initiatives. May be required to lead certain phases of projects.
Provide functional support and services for the administration of potential partnerships with Kouchibouguac National Park and the park’s volunteer program; provide information to field unit staff, park-affiliated associations and volunteers to ensure they understand Agency and government policies and directives; collect statistics and other information to support program evaluation and reporting.
Contribute to facilitating the visitor experience in the performance of duties; respond to general inquiries, direct visitors to locations where they can receive requested information and services, and respond to visitor complaints; be attentive to park conditions and environment to detect incidents and unwanted situations (e.g. inappropriate visitor behaviour, damage to heritage resources); report situations to park authorities (e.g. supervisor, staff with a higher level of prevention skills, park warden, police); may inform and advise visitors and recommend possible solutions (e.g. courtesy reminders).
Participate in external meetings to exchange information and encourage support, influence and participation of targeted stakeholders in the management and direction of Parks Canada, including by participating directly on external committees and working groups, such as a Former Residents Advisory Committee, and/or by supporting managers from the Field Unit who participate to the committee; liaise with other government departments, non-governmental organizations, the business community and other interested parties.

Intent of the process
This process is intended to fill one (1) full-time term position for the Northern New Brunswick Field Unit.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of secondary school education or Public Service Commission approved alternatives, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
EXPERIENCES:
- Experience working with the public, private industry, local communities surrounding Kouchibouguac National Park and/or Indigenous communities located near Kouchibouguac National Park;
- Experience analyzing third-party projects and/or event proposals to determine feasibility;
- Experience managing meetings with different stakeholders who may have different interests.

Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) fluently in English and French.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as required;
- Sitting during extended periods (50-75% of the day);
- Able to lift equipment and boxes (approximately 20 lbs);
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform, as required.
