Duties
The Transformation Portfolio and Design Branch (TPDB) offers a great team environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a multitude of technologies across a diverse digital landscape and interact with a multitude of technical experts, business analysts, developers, designers and solution architects which makes for a great environment to learn and grow professionally. TPDB offers a unique experience working in an agile team to create products from the ground up using new and emerging technologies. TPDB provides innovative product delivery to all clients in support of their efforts to achieve their respective mandates. The Branch is responsible for:
• The research, design, analysis, development, testing and implementation of innovative products in support of all ISED business lines;
• The on-going development, implementation and support of enterprise capabilities such as Digital ID Verification and Consent Management as well as the implementation of Client Relationship Management (CRM) projects and transformation initiatives; and
• The on-going development, implementation and support of products in support of the department’s Digital and Data Platform, such as Salesforce, Redhat and AWS Cloud;
• The Quality Assurance and Control (QAQC) of new and existing Information Technology (IT) Solutions.

We are located at the CD Howe Building, situated at 235 Queen Street, an office complex in downtown Ottawa, close to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Shopping Centre. We are conveniently located close to major bus routes, so it is easy to commute from all points across the National Capital Region.
Intent of the process
The intent of this inventory process is to staff positions with various tenures, security profiles and language requirements within ISED.

EDUCATION:
- Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
NOTES:
*Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
** Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS (IT) group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum twelve (12) months of experience developing and/or designing applications or software in an IT environment (Student placement experience will also be accepted as relevant experience).
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Development
• User Interface Design
• Maintenance
of IT applications, products, services or software.
If yes, provide a list of all programming languages, technologies, platforms and tools you have used in the design, development, unit testing and implementation of IT solutions such as Drupal, Java, Salesforce, or SAP.
- Experience working in a team environment to deliver an assignment, solution, software, project or product in an IT environment.
If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)
EDUCATION:
- Additional education or list of IT certifications obtained such as IT Security, IM/IT, Salesforce, SAP, ITIL.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing software development in a development and operations (DevOps) cloud environment such as AWS.
- Experience in performing version control best practices using tools such as GIT or SVN.
- Experience working with software development support tools for automated build systems such as Maven or continuous integration systems such as AWS Pipeline, Bamboo, Docker, Hudson, Jenkins.
- Experience creating or designing User Interface mock-ups using tools such as Axure, AdobeXD, Balsamiq, Figma or WCAG.
- Experience using accessibility testing methodologies, tools and techniques when designing digital products.
- Experience with Human Centered Design (HCD) principles.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of front-end software development programming languages, technologies, platforms and tools you have used in the design, development, unit testing and implementation of IT solutions such as Angular, React, WET, WxT, Vue.js, PHP, GWT or HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery.
- Knowledge of developing IT solutions using Object Oriented programming languages such as Java, .Net or Python.
- Knowledge of developing IT solutions using a relational database such as Oracle, mySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of configuring (declarative) or developing Salesforce solutions using Salesforce platforms and industry tools.
- Knowledge of implementing IT solutions using authentication to securely access systems with Identity Management technologies such as OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, OAUTH, or Keycloak.
- Knowledge of SAP PI/PO configuration using process integration tools such as ESR (Enterprise Services Repository) or Integration Directory.
- Knowledge of developing or maintaining Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions using programming languages or tools such as ABAP, S/4Hana, SAP Workflow or SAP-BusinessObjects-BI.
- Knowledge of developing Content Management Solutions (CMS) by implementing customs modules or reusable code to leverage a framework such as Drupal.
- Knowledge of developing Learning Management Solutions (LMS) by implementing customs modules or reusable code to leverage a framework such as Moodle.
- Knowledge of applying Human Centered Design (HCD) methodologies to create user-centric solutions.
