Intent of the process

A pool of partially assessed candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions across Canada, within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada, with various language profiles, security requirements and/or tenures.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Post-secondary diploma from a recognized institute in a field related to construction such as architectural technology and/or technician, engineering technology (mechanical, HVAC-R, electrical, civil, etc.); OR,
• Acceptable¹ combination of education and experience in the Real Property² field of work.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
1. Significant³ experience coordinating or assisting in real property projects or programs⁴, including but not limited to elements such as: schedules, budgets, scope requirements, multi-disciplinary consultants or construction contractors, team resources.

2. Significant³ experience coordinating or participating in real property procurement processes for construction contractors or consultants including but not limited to requests for proposal, terms of reference, contract amendments, etc., or contract administration.

3. Significant³ experience in conducting or assisting in quality assurance and the review of construction documents such as tender drawings, specifications, policies and contract regulations, and feasibility studies.

¹An acceptable combination of education and experience is defined as a secondary school diploma, and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in construction projects in the Real Property.

²Real Property is defined as:
1) Residential and Mixed Use Buildings (residential homes, appartements, complexes, in-fill intensification, plans of subdivision, etc.);
2) Commercial Building (office, retail, hotels, special purposes);
3) Industrial Buildings (manufacturing, warehouse/distribution); and,
4) Institutional Buildings (medical, educational, civic, religious, government, military, transport).

³Significant is defined as an experience that the breadth and depth which is normally acquired by performing various activities for at least two (2) years full time.

⁴Program implies a group of related real property construction projects managed in a coordinated manner.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

1. Significant³ experience in skilled trades apprentice programs in the following areas: electrical, mechanical, HVAC-R, control (BAS), plumbing, brick and stone mason, carpentry, or vertical transportation.

2. Experience in coordinating or assisting in negotiations related to project claims or contract management.

3. Knowledge of Basic principles and phases of Project Navigator or other recognized project management system
