The BIM Coordinator supports the BIM Manager and leads the day-to-day implementation of the project’s BIM methodology. The role is responsible for applying the project BIM strategy, enforcing the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and consolidating contributions from project team members within the Common Data Environment (CDE).

Core Coordination Responsibilities
The BIM Coordinator ensures that the BIM methodology is implemented consistently with the project guidelines. This includes defining and coordinating processes, model development levels, software requirements, and data exchange formats within the applicable project framework.

In collaboration with the BIM Manager, the role administers shared digital platforms—particularly the CDE—including workflows, role-based permissions, and related project controls. Throughout delivery, the BIM Coordinator supports the Project Design Team in applying the BIM methodology and keeping project processes, models, and information requirements current.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Regularly review, maintaining standards and model conformances with the design team.
• Routinely assists the BIM Manager in model review/Clash detection meetings, design kick-off meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Responsible for project deliverables of design package.
• Model maintenance reviews.
• Facilitate Peer reviews.
• Satisfy any/all project BIM related ‘Q’ forms.
• Be cognizant of advancement of Global BIM practices.
• Support in the advancement of the regional BIM practices.

Accountable For

• Following regional and GHD BIM standards, latest developments, strategic efforts, software, workflow updates, and all relevant progress.
• Communicating to the BIM Manager any concerns and resistance to change to leadership and advocating the GHD/Digital Design Organisation (DDO) initiatives and objectives.
• Assist in the implementation of GHD BIM Initiative with regards to project delivery, standards, workflows, and procedures.

• Understanding of Asset Classification Systems – e.g., Uni-class / Omni-class.
• Understanding of ISO19650, including parts 1,2, 3 & 5
• Understanding of LOD framework and LOD Matrix specific to BIM Forum criteria/guidelines and associated/expected LOI.
• Understanding of Project Information Model (PIM) Strategy
• Understanding of BIM Digital Dimensions; 3D, 4D, 5D, etc. and ensure modelling disciplines understand requirements and suitability for federated model inclusion.
• Understanding of BIM Uses and benefits.
• Understanding of Common Data Environment and Information Management.
• Understanding of software and application Interoperability.
• Understanding of Model Checking and Drawing Checking QA processes.
• Experience implementing the BIM Execution Plans, Task Information Delivery Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans.
• Understanding of design management skills, including a high level of design coordination and technical understanding
• Troubleshooting abilities and understanding of interoperability of different software at a project level.
• Understanding of asset management integration with a BIM environment.

What will you bring to the team:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working within BIM processes.
• Experience of leading multi-discipline projects and teams.
• Experience of managing Common Data Environments.
• Appropriate BIM certification as required (affiliations/certifications vary across regions).

• The salary range for this role is $74,000 - $123,000.
• The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
