GHD is currently seeking an Intern to work with our groups on projects related to Environment, Transportation, Water, Architecture, and Construction Inspection services. This position is a paid internship position. Our teams work with a wide range of public and private sector clients across Ontario to support sustainable infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and community development.

The objective of GHD’s Internship Program is to provide students who self-identify as members of Indigenous communities the opportunity to gain experience in a consulting environment and contribute to a range of infrastructure and environmental projects. The program is intended to provide meaningful professional experience, mentorship, and exposure to the types of work delivered by multidisciplinary consulting teams.

Working with an energetic and high‑performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Assisting with client, contractor, and internal communications, including preparation of reports, presentations and meeting records

  • Participating in project-related site visits and field work where appropriate to support project understanding and field activities

  • Conducting research related to projects

  • Preparing documentation, including funding applications, project progress and completion reports, and project memorandums

  • Providing support for project administrative tasks

  • Participating in design and project team meetings

Education

  • Post‑secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduate), or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience

  • Preference for candidates in engineering and science

Experience & Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations – status or non‑status, Métis, and Inuit)

  • Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduation, or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience)

  • Demonstrate an interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, and/or the environment through work, education, and/or volunteer experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

  • Valid driver’s licence
