Who are we looking for?
We are hiring for an Environmental Engineer, Scientist or Technologist to join our dynamic Contaminated Assessments & Remediation (CAR) team! This role can be based out of our Calgary office. We work in several different industries including municipal, infrastructure, waste and landfills, water and wastewater, mining, oil and gas upstream, midstream and downstream, commercial and industrial real estate, emergency spill response and federally regulated contaminated sites.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, based on GHD core values of Safety, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, this position offers a variety of project and program activities for our clients and will see you involved in:
- Field Data Collection and Analysis:Coordinate and complete contaminated site assessment projects such as Phase I, II & III Environmental Site Assessments, soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment/soil vapour sampling programs, and contaminated site remediation projects. Preparation for and execution of collecting samples from a variety of client sites in various geographies and submitting samples to an accredited laboratory for analytical testing. Data generated will be interpreted and used to support reporting, recommendations and future decision making. Attention to detail and ability to document field activities according to standard operating procedures and pre-determined work scopes is required. Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain field equipment is involved.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Compliance with the organization's (and our client’s) health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies and procedures to identify and mitigate hazards and risks to the well-being of self and others in the field and office workplaces; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating and reporting serious issues or incidents as appropriate.
- Document Preparation: Organize and prepare a variety of environmental reports for client and regulatory submission and creating scope and cost proposals using standard office software. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills are an asset.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client relationships by supporting business development initiatives and opportunities using relevant sales or client systems.
- Personal and Team Capability Building: As part of a team, support the development of personal and team capabilities within the business group by participating in performance and development planning activities as well as receiving formal and informal training, coaching and mentorship. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technologies, government regulations, and industry best practices through ongoing education and professional development activities.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or
- Environmental Technician/Technologist Diploma.
Experience
- General Experience: Future 2026 graduate, relevant co-op experience considered an asset.
- Managerial Experience: None

Salary Range: $62,000 - $74,000, based on experience.
