Who are we looking for?
Our Engineering Design Organization is looking for a proactive go-getter with a can-do attitude who thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment. As our Electrical Designer working out one of our GTA offices you will play an instrumental role on the Power & Lighting team, supporting design projects involving traffic signals systems, street lighting and power distribution systems.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Preparing designs for projects involving traffic signalization and street lighting systems
- Generating design drawings in MicroStation and AutoCAD environments
- Conducting site investigations and inspections
- Coordination with design team members
- Performing quality checks of design drawings
- Adhering to project budgets and timelines for deliverables
- Mentoring of junior staff
What you will bring to the team:
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum 5 years' related experience
- Thorough knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD / ACC environments
- Detailed knowledge of industry standards and design guidelines, including Ontario Traffic Manual OTM Book 7, 12 and 12A, IESNA RP-8, and applicable TAC guidelines
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with AGI32 will be considered an asset
- G class driver’s license
