GHD's Engineering Design Organization is seeking a Civil Engineer in GHD’s Vancouver office.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of opportunities and will see you involved in:
- Manage medium and large-scale integrated watershed and infrastructure planning/design projects
- Producing conceptual and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of civil and water infrastructure projects, including site grading, water distribution, wastewater and stormwater systems, and linear utility design.
- Supporting or leading design work in an integrated 3D environment that meets company and industry standards.
- Applying technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects
- Act as a technical lead for a defined scope of work
- Participating in water and wastewater pumping station design, treatment facility design, and system assessments.
- Supporting infrastructure planning, asset management, and capital upgrade programs for municipal clients.
- Coordinating with multiple business groups within GHD, subconsultants, and external agencies.
- Contributing to the development of proposals and project strategies.
- Mentoring junior staff and supporting their technical growth and career development.
Candidates’ career experiences may consist of:
- Experience in creating conceptual and detailed design models and producing related drawings for civil design projects
- Strong knowledge of Civil 3D for corridor and pipe network modeling, and familiarity with hydraulic modeling platforms.
- Experience with water, sanitary, and storm infrastructure design and construction.
- Familiarity with MMCD, and municipal servicing standards.
- Preparation of specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and tender documents.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.
- Experience in alternative delivery models (e.g., Design-Build or P3) is an asset.
- Experience or interest in green infrastructure, combined sewer overflow management, and sustainable design practices.
- Working as a team, receiving mentorship and guidance from Senior staff, and providing mentorship and supervision and oversight of Junior staff
- Extensive experience of using pipe network module in Civil 3D.
- Strong experience with geometric design, including alignments, profiles, corridor modeling, and cross section development
What you will bring to the team:
- 5-10 years of civil design experience
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion
- Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate work in order to meet required deadlines while complying with procedures and best practices.
- Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies such as BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations and automation are considered assets
Salary will be determined by candidate’s skills, experience, and location. Range: $73,370 to $122,400
