Our Social Infrastructure team is expanding and in need of a Senior Project Manager/Project Director to join our group in Ontario with the ability to work from our, Waterloo, Whitby, Markham, Toronto, or Mississauga office locations in a hybrid model.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Build positive partnerships with healthcare partners and clients, while working in highly collaborative globally integrated teams of Project Managers, Engineers, Scientists, and others to provide innovative solutions to Canadian healthcare clients.
- Work closely with GHD’s Social Infrastructure Lead and Canadian leadership to ensure successful project and business outcomes.
- Lead proposal development including the preparation of project scope and budget.
- Independently manage numerous projects to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with GHD’s Project Management Office (PMO) procedures and Quality standards.
- Manage project finances and deliverable development (including developing designs and related documentation such as presentation drawings, models, and narratives) to ensure projects are being delivered on schedule and on budget.
- Proactively manage and communicate potential scope change situations.
- Oversee clinical planning for healthcare facilities through various design stages, adhering to Ontario healthcare best practices and engineering principles.
- Collaborate with various disciplines throughout all healthcare project phases to ensure concepts and solutions meet project and owner’s requirements, as well as GHD’s design principles and guidelines.
- Develop and mentor team members that want to expand their expertise into the healthcare sector.
- Develop internal relationships within the GHD network (including GHD’s Business Advisory, Digital, ESG, and Future’s teams) to identify additional innovative service offerings that can be communicated to healthcare clients.
- Perform contractor/construction oversight (including construction contract administration), data collection, testing, sampling, and document field observations.
What you will bring to the team:
- 10+ years of project participation in procurement or engineering of major healthcare capital projects.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management or Health-Sciences or equivalent education.
- PMP designation would be considered an asset.
- Engineering or architectural background is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in the Ontario healthcare planning and design environment, including various capital planning approval stages with the Ministry of Health.
- In depth knowledge of healthcare clinical processes is required.
- Understanding and involvement in public sector procurement of healthcare facilities required.
- Experience with Alternate Finance Project, P3, or Integrated Project Delivery methodology, whether in PDC or Proponent roles, is considered an asset.
- Experience across multiple stages of healthcare capital redevelopment would be considered an asset.
- Experience within other social infrastructure sectors outside of healthcare is considered an asset.
- Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Build and maintain exceptional client relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with sound technical judgment.
- Proven high ethical standards with a dedication to producing high quality work.
- Self-motivated, flexible, great teammate, willing to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal direction.
- Work will consist of office and on-site work; ability to travel to client site as needed.
- Able to work out of a GHD office a minimum of two days per week.
