Who are we looking for?
GHD is looking for a Senior Track Engineer / Team Lead to join our team in the GTA, located in our Mississauga, ON Office. As the Senior Track Engineer / Team Lead, you will lead internal Designers and Engineers with a primary focus on organizing the Technical team to complete the task; manage all input and design coordination between disciplines, control the design path, solve problems, and hold responsibility for the track design in achieving the final result.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Play a pivitol role in developing and leading a high performing track design office.
- Select, develop, mentor a growing design team focused on excellence.
- Partner closely with the Rail and Transit Business Lead, Project Directors and Design Manager on all major project functions,
- Develop Junior Team members by developing and implementing standard across
- Provide strategic input into complex design options and solutions that fit the Client’s requirements
- Coordinate all aspects of the design team including the design work
- Develop or verify the technical scope of a project
- Lead track design coordination meetings and address critical issues that impact external partners
- Represent GHD at Client meetings by leading on all track aspects
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree or equivalent
- A Professional Engineering (P. Eng) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required.
- 10 years' experience
- Demonstrable experience in the development and design of rail and transit track including complex alignments, junctions, turnouts and crossovers
- Experience of working in a Design Build environment
- Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards
- Knowledge of scheduling and capital cost estimating techniques is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team building and mentoring skills
