GHD has a great opportunity for a Senior Environmental Project Engineer in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role, with a specialization in contaminated sites to support our North American team! Our hiring team, based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, specializes in environmental assessments, risk assessments, risk management planning and implementation, and remedial design and implementation for public and private sector clients across Canada and the US. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Support of strategic pursuits, focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
- Provide senior leadership and mentorship with respect to the completion of environmental remediation projects.
- Work within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams.
- Remain current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
- Manage design projects including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage the development and review of technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may at times entail supporting other GHD office locations requiring some travel.
- Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.
What you will bring to the team:
- 15+ years-experience
- Accredited Professional Engineer in Canada or the US
- Civil or environmental engineering degree
- Possession of P.Eng. designation to be used to stamp/certify designs. P.E. designation considered an asset.
- Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management.
- Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs including drawings and specifications and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US
- Experience and desire to provide high profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions.
- Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators.
- Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation
- Understanding of US environmental legislation considered an asset.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report writing skills.
- Strong commitment to client service excellence

Salary Range: $134,800 - 202,000, based on experience.
