Our Waterloo and Toronto Ontario offices is seeking a Waste Management Graduate Engineer ready to join one of our fastest growing Canadian Operations. This position is a phenomenal opportunity to be part of an established waste management practice in Canada with a vision of changing waste to resources. We are seeking a technically strong waste management engineer-in-training to grow into an industry leader with our team.

Are you passionate about the future of a diverse waste management industry in Ontario and beyond?
GHD is currently seeking aspiring Environmental Engineer in Training (EIT) or environmental professional with a genuine interest in waste management.
What You’ll Do:
- Contribute to waste projects that include landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, anaerobic digestion facilities, composting facilities, and/or waste-to-energy facilities.
- Support contract administration, construction oversight, site inspection/monitoring, and operations support, including with full-time site work for projects.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of construction contract documents, field notes, mark-up drawings, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, payment certification, and reporting.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of studies, conceptual and detailed designs, permitting and approvals.
- Effectively communicate and connect with team members, contractors, clients, regulatory authorities, and the general public.
- Support preparation of proposals and strategic business development activities with other team members.
Role Requirements:
- Civil or Environmental Engineering degree.
- Exceptional written communication skills – ability to write technical and non-technical documents.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills – ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, regulatory authorities, and the general public.
- Passionate about the future of a diverse waste management industry in Ontario and beyond.
- Eager to work with multi-discipline engineering teams (i.e., civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and controls, etc.).
- Knowledge of the waste management industry, including key players, technologies, and regulations will be an asset.
- Previous construction or field work experience will be an asset.
- Valid drivers’ licence with driving record in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness and ability for travel within Ontario and Canada for meetings, site visits, and to conduct field work, as required.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.
