Who are we looking for?
A dynamic, engaging Business Development professional, who is eager to lead our business development and marketing team of approximately 10. You will increase our brand recognition, improve client relationships and support the team to win work for the Victoria Region and broader enterprise.
This is a diverse, exciting and interesting position, focusing on the following key areas:
- Pursuits & Bids
- Marketing, Events & Communications – Markets & Clients
- Events & Communications – Internal
- Key Client Program
- BD&M Team Management & Leadership.
Pursuits & Bids:
- For priority pursuits and other key opportunities (in collaboration with relevant stakeholders), ensure that we plan and execute highly effective, proactive positioning strategies that maximise the chance of success.
- Oversee the maintenance of appropriate collateral, information and resources (across all aspects of this position, not only bids).
- Monitor tender portals and communication streams for relevant opportunities.
- Champion the development of our people in our GHD winning work framework, toolkits and associated systems.
Marketing, Events & Communications – Markets & Clients:
- Lead the development and implementation of targeted brand awareness and BD strategies, at a regional, market and client-specific level.
- Support the implementation of APAC marketing and communication initiatives, brand campaigns etc.
- Plan and execute key industry and client events within the region.
- Work closely with leads in our business to maintain strong relationships with our existing clients and to identify and develop new client relationships and opportunities.
- Actively champion Salesforce as the core client relationship management tool within GHD.
Events & Communications – Internal:
- Facilitate the Region’s communication and execution of events for APAC led internal initiatives.
- Provide support to Victorian leaders with communications.
Key Client Program:
- Coordinate and champion our key client program to ensure the relationship of all high priority and strategic clients is improved to secure ongoing new business.
- Collaborate, support and champion the Enterprise’s client centred initiatives and frameworks.
BD&M Team Management & Leadership:
- Proactively manage the BD and Marketing Team’s performance, people and budget.
- Ensure initiatives, projects and deliverables are managed in line with GHD’s systems, procedures and limits of authority.
- Build effective relationships with the Region’s broader leadership and others as required.
What would you bring to the team?
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, engineering, marketing or communications.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, marketing, client relationship management and winning work, preferably with major engineering consultancy/advisory or professional services firms.
- Client-centric leader with a passion for building relationships and creating/securing new opportunities.
- Advanced communication skills
- The ability to influence with or without formal authority
- Proactive, solutions orientated, with a strong business acumen and ability to work as a team member or independently.
- Sound judgement and decisiveness.
