As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in driving business growth and delivering strategic employee benefits solutions to clients. You will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle, maintaining strong relationships with key clients, and ensuring the successful implementation and ongoing management of benefits programs. This role requires a balance of business development expertise and consultative client service to clients who operate mid to large business
What you will do:
- Business Development
- Identify and pursue client expansion and cross selling opportunities
- Drive new business opportunities and expand market presence
- Meet growth targets
- Client Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients
- Design and deliver client-specific, competitive plan design concepts that align with evolving market trends and client objectives
- Provide ongoing education, support, and expert guidance to established client contacts, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor
- Manage satisfaction, profitability & retention of client book
- Manage the full sales and implementation process, ensuring high-quality execution and client satisfaction
- Oversee all aspects of ongoing plan management
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Work with carriers and partners to support client services
- Contribute to organizational knowledge and culture through active participation in consultant meetings and peer collaboration
- Operational Metrics
- Monitor and improve client satisfaction through feedback and service quality.
- Drive client retention by fostering strong relationships and delivering consistent value.
- Financial Metrics
- Achieve revenue targets for a client portfolio of $500,000 or more.
- Ensure profitability across the assigned client book
- Meet new business development goals of $25,000 or more.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of employee benefit industry experience
- Completed post-secondary education or a combination of equivalent professional experience and training
- Life Licensed Qualification Program (LLQP) or willing to obtain
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation an asset.
- Solid understanding of varied underwriting concepts, techniques and analysis
- Knowledge of the flexible benefits space and excel in planning and implementing these types of strategic initiatives
- Proven track record in managing a complex block of business in a fast-paced environment
- Client-focused, with partnership mentality
- Strong relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate
- Can identify and drive opportunities to grow an existing book and cross-sell
