SCOPE
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Content and Digital Marketing with functional reporting to the Senior Advisor, Digital Marketing, the incumbent is responsible for helping to enhance the university’s reputation and recruitment efforts by supporting organic and paid social media and advertising strategies. The incumbent works in collaboration with members of UCS and Concordia’s academic and administrative units.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Source and negotiate traditional media advertising placement (including Out-of-home) on behalf of UCS as well as other academic or administrative units.
• Coordinate the creation and delivery of the advertising content, according to the platform and specs of the placement, including vanity URLs, tagged links and QR codes; act as the point person for approvals. Collaborate with Studio on design aspects.
• Coordinate and schedule bookings for advertising spaces managed by UCS (tunnel banners, washrooms, shuttle bus, etc.)
• Track and develop reports and analytics regarding traditional and digital campaigns; report on KPIs and assist with client presentations.
• In collaboration with the Senior Advisor, Digital Marketing, monitor and optimize ongoing social media and digital advertising campaigns. Track campaign performance and develop stats reports.
• Assist with implementing basic Search Engine Optimization tactics (under instruction from the Senior Advisor, Digital Marketing).
• Manage the budget administration and invoicing related to paid social media and other digital marketing campaigns as well as advertising placement for UCS and other units.
• Coordinate photo and video shoots and agency work (such as copywriting) and translations for advertising and digital marketing content. Work with Communications Advisors and others to recruit students or faculty and to book locations for shoots, etc.
• Monitor basic web analytics and generate reports using Google Analytics. Interpret results for internal colleagues and clients.
• Assist with the creation and updating of content, digital marketing and social media handbooks and guidelines to improve and maintain the university’s online reputation.
• Assist with training efforts in social media and digital marketing.
• Perform other tasks in support of the unit, including acting as a backup for social media, digital marketing and advertising initiatives during vacations or leaves on the team.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of experience in digital advertising
• Very good spoken and written English (level 5) in order to review, modify and create social media and digital marketing/advertising content. Good spoken and written French (level 4)
• Understanding of and high proficiency on various social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube…etc. and other community platforms such as Reddit
• Proficiency with digital marketing and advertising tools such as Meta Ads Manager and LinkedIn Campaign Manager; Google Ads Manager
• Knowledge of and experience with social media monitoring/publishing tools such as Synthesio, Meltwater, Sprout Social, HootSuite, etc.
• Demonstrated experience managing and tracking budgets and invoicing of paid campaigns
• Deep understanding of organic and paid social media metrics
• Understanding of Google Analytics
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and Sharepoint
• Knowledge of/experience running Google Ad campaigns (search and display), Search Engine Optimization, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio are considered assets.
• Experience using Canva
• Experience with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), Adobe Photoshop and audio and video editing software are considered assets.
• Good design sense and skills
• Excellent judgement
• Ability to stay abreast of digital marketing and social media trends
• Comfort with rapid technological change and ability to rapidly implement or adapt to new technology tools
• Demonstrated sense of creativity and innovation
• Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, client-focused, verbal/written communication, leadership and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with faculty and staff members, as well as students
