We're looking for an experienced MERL, Natural Hazards and Development Project Lead to join our team.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Develop and maintain key client relationships associated with delivery of projects associated with MERL, Natural Hazard Resilience, Sustainability and Infrastructure in the international development market, specifically in the Pacific (inc luding Papua New GuineaNG).
- Actively support our current market strategies (and at times, lead) strategic pursuits as well as identify and appraise new international development projects.
- Integrate principles of sustainability as well as giving regard to regarding natural hazards and climate change resilience into on infrastructure projects.
- Undertake preparation and delivery of associated technical reports, primarily for international development projects, but also NZ based as required.
- Realisze business opportunities for GHD to grow and develop work that delivers on infrastructure outcomes on international development projects.
- Project Manage complex international development projects in remote locations. Strong stakeholder, social & cultural engagement skills are required.
- Support business development initiatives to grow international development.
What you will bring to the team:
- MSc in environmental/climate or social science or relevant field.
- Relevant PhD degree would be an advantage.
- At least 15 years’ experience in international development and doner projects as a MERL, natural hazards, resilience practitioner.
- Display a strong use of initiative with the ability to work independently and as a supportive team member.
- Ability to mentor and coach team members.
- Support broader business delivery, including project delivery and proposals.,
- Established competency in natural hazard risk modelling and assessment of various natural hazards and receptors (natural and built environment).
- A desire to go the extra mile to achieve practical solutions.
